I was catching up on older photos which are JUST now being dumped off my camera. Yes, I'm aware it's months after Christmas. Yet I'm drawn to post these pictures anyway because they represent some tangible non-human aspects of the 2009 Christmas Eve celebration. I think it's mostly because I know that if I wait to post them next December I'll never remember.
This is the vegetable tree centerpiece that I made. I've done this before and this year I realized that I needed to make it on a little smaller scale so this year's tree was a little smaller. I use a Styrofoam base, broccoli for the tree, radishes for bulbs, and star fruit for the star, obviously. I sometimes use slices of brightly colored peppers for garland.
This is one of this year's homemade candy trays that I gave as gifts.

The menu that was displayed as the guests walked through the door.

And this collection of holiday photos wouldn't be complete if I didn't include at least on gift. This gift is one that Sarah had packaged so beautifully for Miss Vivi. Inside it was a little handmade purse that she had purchased from a very talented friend's etsy store. She filled it with tiny little bangle bracelets but saved out a few that were holiday colors and tied them on as part of the wrapping. Isn't it a gorgeous idea? I thought so.

I LOVE the vegetable tree! so often those creations are made with sweets I can't enjoy - This is stunning, and good for you, too! I want you to teach me how to make one next year!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat an enjoyable evening. The puppet show by the children topped the night off nicely.
